Autonomous RC Boat

Undergraduate mechatronics project: an RC boat converted into an autonomous obstacle-avoidance platform. The approach was self-derived — looking at the dev kit components available, the idea emerged to mount an ultrasonic sensor on a servo and sweep it across the field of view, building a spatial map of what's ahead. No AI, no LIDAR, no prior framework — just first-principles thinking that happened to reinvent phased-array radar logic from scratch. The boat uses that distance map to steer around obstacles in real time.
